Two more deaths from Coronavirus have been confirmed by Health Minister, David Ashford. The Minister said he understood one person had died in the Abbotswood Nursing Home and one in Nobles Hospital. It means eighteen people on the Island have now died from the Covid 19 virus.
Mr Ashford said one person had tested positive for the virus since yesterday. Twenty-two people are currently being treated in hospital.
Today saw the easing of restrictions to enable builders, gardeners and window cleaners to return to work. The Minister warned that any breaches of the rules in terms of mass gatherings or social distancing will be dealt with by the authorities. But he said the evidence was that the vast majority of people had acted responsibly: “We are still vulnerable and it will be baby steps. This is just a toe in the water so to speak,” said Mr. Ashford.
