Solidarity Fund accommodation costs support for returning students

  • Applications open for students proving a genuine financial need
  • Up to £250 support to help fund costs of accommodation for self-isolation
  • All applications processed in conjunction with DESC grants team

Students returning to the Isle of Man for Christmas may apply for assistance from the Manx Solidarity Fund, if they can demonstrate a need for additional financial support to enable their 14 day self-isolation in alternative accommodation.

The Fund will provide up to a maximum of £250 to qualifying applicants. This can be provided to complement the £500 support (£250 per week, for a maximum of two weeks) that the Isle of Man Government is providing to returning residents requiring to self-quarantine in alternative accommodation.

As part of the Manx Solidarity Fund’s due diligence process, all applications from students will be processed and checked in conjunction with the Department of Education, Sport and Culture’s Student Awards team.

The additional support will only be provided to those eligible students staying in accommodation that is listed on the Isle of Man Government’s ‘Select Accommodation Isolation List”. The list of properties can be found on its Covid-19 page at

Applications for the Manx Solidarity Fund support can only be made via its online portal, which can be accessed at
