Simcocks support for Stroke Foundation

The staff of Simcocks Advocates in Douglas have nominated and voted for their new Charity of the Year.  For 2021 the law firm will be raising money for the Manx Stroke Foundation.

The staff members kicked off their fund raising efforts with a Valentine’s Day raffle.  Everyone donated towards some impressive hampers and raised £200 in raffle ticket sales.

Enid Potts, committee member for the Manx Stroke Foundation, visited Simcocks on Valentine’s Day to meet some of the team and to draw the winning tickets.  Long-serving staff member, Jayne Hicks, was delighted to win one of the hampers.

Phil Games, CEO, told B365: “Each year the staff at Simcocks choose local charities to put forward for consideration, and then everyone votes.  In the past we have raised funds for the RNLI, the Workshop for the Disabled, the Hyperbaric Chamber and many others. This isn’t the first time the staff have chosen the Manx Stroke Foundation and we’re delighted to be working with the charity again this year, which was nominated by our Finance Manager Claire Belcher-Smith.”

The Manx Stroke Foundation was formed in 1997 with the overall aim to help and support people after stroke, identify new initiatives in stroke care and campaign to improve stroke services on the Isle of Man.
