The recent surge in Covid 19 cases in the Isle of Man shows signs of gathering momentum.
173 new cases have been confirmed in the latest period under review. It means there are now 844 active cases on the Island.
The number of people being treated for the virus in Nobles Hospital has risen to four – though nobody is in intensive care.
Meanwhile a Douglas Care home has been closed to visitors after an outbreak of the virus.
The Salisbury Street Care home in Douglas will close to visitors at midnight for a period of two weeks.
Visits on compassionate grounds will only be considered on a case by case basis. The manager has written to family and friends of the home’s residents, to explain the decision hasn’t been taken lightly.
The policy will be reviewed on March 21st.
