The Isle of Man’s celebrated festive fundraiser in back for its third year!
Taking place on Saturday 12 December, and hosted by telecommunications and platform provider, plan.com, Santas on a Bike will see hundreds of motorbikes gather for a mass ride-out and festive celebration all in aid of Rebecca House Children’s Hospice.
With a brand-new route for this year, the 2020 event will begin at the Sea Terminal and head through Douglas town centre to Castletown, before returning to cross the finish line at Rebecca House, Hospice in the Strang.
Nicola Patterson, event organiser and Director of People Experience at plan.com explained: “Last year we welcomed over 200 Santa’s and their bikes and we hope to see even more people get involved in the celebrations as we spread some festive cheer after what has been a difficult year for everyone.”
She continued: “We’re extremely fortunate on the Isle of Man that events like this can go ahead, however that does not mean that the impact of the pandemic has not been felt. Charities like Rebecca House need our support more than ever, and we are determined to make Santa’s on a Bike 2020 the biggest and best yet, to help raise as much as we possibly can!”
Mel Kermeen, Director of Funds Development and Marketing for Hospice Isle of Man added: “Santas on a Bike is such an exciting event and has become a real favourite in the Hospice calendar. With so many fundraising events being postponed or cancelled this year, we feel extremely fortunate that Santa’s on a Bike can go ahead, and we are grateful to plan.com for their help and support in making that happen. Finishing at our newly refurbished Hospice Care building will make the 2020 event even more special.”
Riders should meet at the Sea Terminal from 10am, for a prompt start at 11am heading for Castletown Square and returning to Rebecca House, Hospice for a 1pm finish for food, drink, and festive entertainment for all the family!
