IOM specific elearning platform launched for financial services industry

A new easy-to-use platform developed by professionals with decades of compliance experience has been officially launched.

Leading Island practice DQ Advocates has teamed up with a local software provider to produce a bespoke elearning platform designed to suit a wide range of business needs with in-depth content specific to the Isle of Man’s regulatory environment.

Featuring multi-level content, it was demonstrated to Island businesses at a series of workshops and local organisations are now being offered free trials.

The Covid-19 pandemic has caused many firms across the world to dramatically ramp up their remote learning offerings and bring together content from renowned partners in compliance in one place.

DQ’s Head of Regulatory and Compliance Services, Sinead O’Connor, said: ‘This is an initiative we are very excited about and one which has the ability to benefit many businesses and individuals in the Isle of Man.

‘Clearly, an integrated suite of tools can bring real value to companies and business professionals so we wanted to share this with our clients and Isle of Man firms in general.’

The platform enables the adaptation of training to local contexts with individual branding and has an attractive, accessible and user-friendly interface, in addition to being fully mobile-compatible with the option to take modules online.

Sinead continued: ‘This initiative was actually planned before Covid, since then, the importance of remote learning and the need to continue learning effectively and safely has truly come to the fore. All content at both executive and operational level is updated regularly to reflect changes in regulation and offers businesses access to an entire suite of content written by professionals with decades of compliance experience.’

As well as specific content on anti-money laundering, counter-financing terrorism, anti-bribery, data protection and the general regulatory environment,  fraud and risk management modules are being finalised and exciting discussions have already been held with Island agencies to enhance the training available to MLROs.
