Motorists will able to park free every Thursday from today at numerous Douglas car parks to enjoy spending time in the capital in the run up to Christmas.
The Isle of Man Government has worked with Douglas Borough Council and is offering free parking from 5pm every Thursday commencing this week, 29 October until Christmas at Chester Street plus Douglas Borough Council’s car parks Shaw’s Brow and the Bottleneck.
Free parking continues at Parade Street East and at The Tongue (beside Douglas Yacht Club) overnight plus the walkway and highway parking at Loch Promenade will become available for the Christmas period.
Infrastructure Minister Baker MHK, told B365: ‘We are keen to support businesses in Douglas in the run up to Christmas and are pleased to be working with our colleagues at the Council on this initiative.’
Parking will also return on the highway and walkway on Loch Promenade with Church Road Marina and Broadway partially reopening from 26 November to allow vehicles to exit the Promenade.
Church Road Marina will close again on 4 January through to 29 March 2021 in order to complete foundation works prior to the construction of the roundabout.
