Island financial planner, Chartwell, has been recognised for excellence by scooping a prestigious accolade, just 18 months after being formed.
The company, which provides respected independent financial advice to private clients and business, picked up the title for ‘leading adviser firm in the UK, established within the last three years’ at the 2020 International Adviser Best Practice Adviser awards.
Now in its fifth year, the awards ceremony – run in partnership with Quilter international – is designed to acknowledge financial advisers within the industry that are making, or have made, the transitions towards best practice.
Organisers International Adviser said, despite the Covid-19 pandemic creating an incredibly challenging time which placed enormous strain on firms, the best advisers ‘stepped up to the plate’ to support clients and staff and the awards ensured a global showcase for their achievements.
Chartwell received praise from judges for ‘top class business planning’, providing a ‘clear vision for the business with strong understanding of their clients’ and were also commended for ‘demonstrating a high degree of flexibility and dedication’, including providing home visits outside of working hours.
Manx businesswoman Jo Dugdale, who founded Chartwell in 2019 following 25 years working in financial services and independent financial advice firms both in the UK and Isle of Man, was shocked but thrilled by the announcement.
‘This really is a wonderful surprise and I am naturally proud and delighted that we have been recognised in this way,’ she said.
‘To receive such a glowing appraisal by independent peers is fantastic and testament to the expertise and commitment of our small team. Most of all, it is an endorsement of how well Chartwell is regarded, our commitment to maintaining a high quality of service and an approach which will benefit clients.
‘A sincere thank you to everyone who has been involved at Chartwell Financial Planners and, most of all, to our clients who have joined us over the last year and a half. We will strive to continue offering the best possible financial advice.’
